Over the years the iconic author’s work has been brought to the big screen several times. Apart from writing the screenplays of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and You Only Live Twice, Dahl didn’t have much say on the Hollywood adaptations of his own work. In fact he wasn’t a huge fan of the ones he caught before his death in 1990, except the particularly dark TV film of The BFG in 1989.
